Throwback Post: It's Just a Cup

I wrote this status on my Facebook in 2015 when there was a big to do about boycotting Starbucks because they changed the color and design of their Christmas cup. As if we didn't have anything else to argue about, people argued about a cup. Let me repeat, a cup! A cup that you drink out of and throw in the garbage.   I shared my opinion, it came up in my memories today, so I decided to share it here.

I don't agree with Starbucks not supporting our military. I could care less what color the cup the delicious coffee comes in. Here is what we do not think about, while religious groups are boycotting and screaming shut it down, what about the people working there who have bills to pay, who are in college, or supporting a family. What about the teenager who is a mother and couldn't find any other job. The company may have mean ideas and be anti-Christian but not every employee that works there is. Are we really being Christ like in wanting millions of innocent employees to go without a job just because the company is wrong? Is it very Christ like to leave employees
without a job? Some will become homeless. Are you going to give them a job once you take theirs away? Let's take this further, Walmart supports all kind of crap and we shop there every day. Saudi Arabia kills gays yet that hasn't stopped us from supporting them when we put gas in our cars to go places. Get real people! There is a bigger issue here. If we were as courageous about showing love to people the way Jesus did as we are boycotting things, we might see more souls saved then we do. We can agree to disagree and I don't mind being corrected if I'm wrong but come on people pick your battles. Don't get me started on the issue of abortion, why don't we fight for children to stay alive like we do the color of a coffee cup?

Facebook Statuses: Post Ten

Worry makes a mountain out of nothing and blurs common sense and clear vision. It drains your energy, puts you in a spin and isn't healthy. Worry is a waste of time and robs us of our peace, so why do we do it? I am learning to trust God, because I cannot know and control everything.

Facebook Statuses: Post Nine

Forgiveness may be the most difficult thing to do, but it is necessary or it will eat you alive. Harboring unforgiveness does not punish the person who did you wrong, it only cripples you and hinders your freedom to enjoy life.

Facebook Statuses: Post Eight

I can't fix it. You can't fix it. Bob the builder can't fix it. Duct tape can't even fix it. Only God can fix it.

Facebook Statuses: Post Nine

Though my world feels like it is falling, I still hear You calling. It's in Your voice I find my strength so I will hold my head high, lift my hands towards the sky because it is You who has never left my side.

Facebook Statuses: Post Eight

You can dwell on your problems and things you can't change, feeling the burden weigh you down as peace hides and confusion rings or you can trust God, turn praise and worship music up loud and focus on God and feel your world begin to look brighter in spite of the hurt you feel.

Facebook Statuses: Post Seven

Put one foot in front of the other, hold your head high. Things are gonna get better. It may be dark and stormy now, the sun may be hiding behind a dark cloud, don't let it bring you down. Stand your ground. Cry your tears, let your heart heal. Don't be bitter. Don't walk in fear. Wounds hurt, confusion may cloud your understanding, but don't give up. A brand new day is coming. The sun will shine again. As the saying goes "The darkest hour is just before the dawn." Trust God and breath.

Facebook Statuses: Post Six

Procrastination doesn't launch you forward, it pushes you behind.

Facebook Statuses: Post Five

If you are waiting to be perfect before you let God use you again. You will be waiting until you are dead. No one is perfect.

Facebook Statuses: Post Four

I am not perfect, neither are you, but that is no excuse for us not to try and live better. Past actions, words, mistakes and future don't have to be repeated. It is in the past. They do not have to define you. Today is a new day, we choose the paths we take rather fresh and positive or repeating the past that haunts us.  We choose if we stay in a rut or move forward towards the Son.

Facebook Statuses: Post Three

If we pattern our lives after Christ, we won't look like the world in our actions, and our speech will be clean because we will represent the King of Kings.

Facebook Statuses: Post Two

Anyone can go to Church and not follow Christ. Only when we truly, wholeheartedly follow Christ will we see change.

Facebook Statuses: Post One

We can claim to be a Christian but if our lives don't show it, no one is gonna know it. Why would anyone want to be a Christian if we don't represent who we claim we know?

Facebook Statuses: Introduction

I am starting a new series on my blog. Facebook Statuses.  This series will be statuses I have posted on Facebook throughout the year and would like to share on my blog.  Please do not use these without permission, or without quoting me (Mardi Robyn) as the author.  They are my own thoughts and are under copyright laws.   Thank you in advance!

The statuses I post are in no particular order in date.  I will post them as I come across my old statuses or make new ones.
