Throwback Posts: 2 Corinthians 4:3

"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:" II Corinthians 4:3

I realize the verse (II Corinthians 4:3) is talking about the gospel is hid to those who are lost, but I had a thought, do we hide the gospel in our lives so that we don't represent Jesus to those who are lost? How can the lost see the truth, if we hide the truth by not sharing it with others in our words, deeds; how we live our life.

The gospel is hid to those who are lost. As Christians we have Jesus living in us, therefore we are the one's to carry the gospel of Jesus to the lost, so that it isn't hid from them any longer. We have to carry the torch that lights the way for those in darkness to see the truth that Jesus is the way. If we don't, we will be responsbile for people dying and souls going to hell. I don't want to be found guilty of hiding my light under a bushel.

"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:13-16

Is the gospel hid in your life? Can those that are lost see the light?
There's a world searching in need, to know that Jesus set's men free
If our light isn't shinning in darkness, how will they see the truth that Jesus came to give all men who will receive? Search your heart and ask yourself, when people look at you, can they see Jesus in you? Or is the gospel of Jesus Christ hid in your life?

"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost; In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed, we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted by not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh."
~ II Corinthians 4:6-11
